Laura's confession: I don't know what's worse, the STEPS concert or the ABBA tribute band I went to see as a teenager. The shame.

Laura's own words: ABOUT ME:
I took a gap year and spent 4 months skiing (and drinking) in France, which has left me with some amazing memories; like new years eve in the town square with 200 other people and a lot of bubbly! The rest was spent working in a restaurant where I met some rather interesting people, both co-workers and customers!
The 'University experience' started off pretty rubbish, but there is always a silver lining and would describe my first year as 'character building'.
I finished the year and then transfered to Winchester University to continue my course and haven't looked back since. Holding down 2 jobs this year (nanny and waitress) as well as Uni full time has kept me on my toes, but I love it and try to find time to be a more social member of the Uni Tennis Team amongst other activities.
My friends would describe me as determined, but a complete blonde at times. For example I wasn't sure if I needed my passport to go to Cornwall. Not one of my finest moments.
I'm now in my 3rd and final year studying Sport Science, a course which is densely populated by lads and the only one that still subjects its students to the dreaded 'bleep test'. My dissertation is within the topic area of music and exercise, which I have a real passion about.
My most recent venture is volunteering for a 1950's lingerie fashion show this November which will raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness and Naomi House. And I can safely say the only time I'm willing to be half naked in public is if it's for charity!
IF I WIN MISS STUDENT I WILL PUT THE MONEY TO GOOD USE:
Firstly, some of the money will go to local organisations that get children involved in sport. Secondly, I would make a donation to the Sports Science department at Winchester University so they can buy new physiological equipment or sports psychology books for future students.
I hope to go on to study Applied Sport and Exercise psychology (MSc). The sport industry is a competitive one but with this qualification, fingers crossed, the prospect of a career working will all kinds of athlete is realistic. The money would help me finance this!
However, I would definately throw a party, something like a barn dance, for those who have supported me through my University experience.
